About this keynote

Healthcare AI is becoming more powerful. But who is becoming healthier? Faster decisions and smarter systems mean little if patients still face delayed diagnoses, fragmented care, and preventable harm.

Dr. Briggs challenges leaders to make trustworthiness the foundation of innovation and human well-being the measure of progress. Drawing on clinical, executive, and federal policy experience, she examines how to align AI with human needs, prevent harm, and address the problems healthcare has struggled to solve.

About Dr. Briggs

Experience where decisions matter.Vision for what comes next.

Few speakers can speak to clinicians, executives, policymakers, and founders with equal authority. Dr. Briggs has done each job, so every keynote rests on results she delivered herself.

Dr. Medell Briggs-Malonson is a Harvard- and UCLA-trained, board-certified emergency physician, former health system executive, and entrepreneur. She brings two decades of experience to some of the most consequential questions facing leaders today: how to build technology people can trust, sustain the health of those who lead, and create opportunity that strengthens generations.

Appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, she served as Co-Chair of the federal Health Information Technology Advisory Committee, advising on national technology policy and regulations that shape healthcare across the country. Her perspective connects the promise of innovation with the realities of clinical care and the responsibility to protect the people it serves.

As UCLA Health’s Chief of Health Equity and Inclusive Excellence, she built frameworks across four hospitals and more than 280 ambulatory sites and led the system to become the first in California and the western United States to earn Joint Commission Health Care Equity Certification. She also served as Chief Health Equity Officer for University of California Health and helped launch Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital, establishing the quality and safety foundations of a new safety-net hospital.

Today, she is founder and CEO of Contour Health Solutions and Life@Peace Collective, including its founding practice, Life@Peace Health. She advises healthcare organizations, technology innovators, and investors while building personalized care for people who carry the responsibilities of leadership and service. Her work reflects a conviction that lasting progress depends on healthy people and communities with the opportunity to thrive.

Recognized by Fierce Healthcare, Modern Healthcare, and the National Medical Association, Dr. Briggs-Malonson brings clinical insight, executive judgment, and a deeply human perspective to the stage. Her keynotes invite audiences to think more boldly about innovation, reconsider the health of leadership, and recognize their power to shape the health and prosperity of generations to come.
